May has been a busy month so far preparing for two big events – one being my wedding in Tuscany on 29th May(!) and the other; a fantastic new exhibition I’m truly excited about.
I’m delighted to present an epic display of paintings by Jessica Zoob, an incredible artist who will be showing in both my City of London art-spaces at the same time. The exhibition is in conjunction with London Connoisseur and is the biggest collection of Jessica’s work to date, spanning 7000 sqft in total.
Named ‘Dreams Do Come True’, the exhibition showcases a series of recent singular and group paintings combining soft, dreamy pastels with radiant splashes of vibrant fluorescence, sometimes on a monumental scale.
Jessica’s exquisitely rendered colours have the ability to emit calming or energetic qualities according to her burgeoning fan base, with people saying it’s impossible not to feel moved when standing in front of her ethereal work. Shimmering golden hues complement floral notes, captured in a palette with a distinctly Oriental and Impressionistic influence. Abstracted land and seascapes are created with layer upon layer of paint, meticulously applied, within which the tiniest elements play their part.
“I am deeply passionate about capturing beauty and creating happiness”, Jessica comments, and indeed beauty can be found in every detail of her work.
For Jessica, the title reflects her own experience that dreams really do come true. She met and lost the love of her life thirty years ago, only to reconnect by chance and marry twenty-five years later.
Opening on Thursday 23rd May, the exhibition Private View will feature floral displays by Storm Flowers London and bespoke floral crowns by Ana Zoob alongside Jessica’s epic paintings. As guests wander between the two galleries curated by VJB Arts, they will be treated to champagne and macarons at Venue I, and gin cocktails by City of London Distillery at Venue II.
